In case you were wondering, I'm cleaning of my library shelf in preparation to attack my stack of ALA ARCs, plus my stack of beginning chapters and easy readers from Random House. Plus a variety of sewing projects that have been neglected. On with the reading! The Thirteen Days of Christmas by Jenny Overton was recommended by a blogger, I don't recall who. It's an amusing little novel about the origin of the Twelve Days of Christmas carol. A wealthy young man is courting an imaginative and proud young lady. Her younger siblings, anxious to be rid of her truly awful cooking and nagging ways, hint that gifts showing originality will do the trick. Unfortunately, the young man is rather literal....and used to buying things in large quantities....
