Messy Crafts: Facepaint!

Yay! My second Messy Crafts program was also a big success! Facepaint, of course, is not a good choice for a craft time unless you have something to occupy the attention of those waiting to be painted. Luckily, since the Twilight Fiasco, I had plenty of stuff left over. I put out cupcakes on a table, with leftover decorations (frosting, red licorice, and red hots) and another table had left over temp tattoos, henna from the party and glow in the dark ones from the SRP prize box, since I wanted to know if they would really glow. Then we put one table in the center of the room and spread out all the facepainting stuff on it and had two stations at either end, one with my aide, Laura, and one with my volunteer.

About half way through, one of the kids asked if they could use the board games I keep in my storage room, so I pulled out a couple "special" games that aren't usually available, Stratego and Ker-Plonk, and they had lots of fun with those. I'll be posting gorgeous pictures on the library blog soon!

And, btw, we have plenty of facepaint for another program. We're still using the supply I bought several years ago for a program - I had no idea it took so little paint, so I got the large bottles and....
