Thank you for attending today's Preschool Interactive!
Our early literacy skill was: Letter Knowledge, knowing that the same letter can look different, that letters have names and are related to sounds.
You can practice this skill at home by pointing out the letters in the stories you read together - not just in alphabet books and by encouraging scribbling - it's the first step to writing.
Our songs and rhymes included:

How many letters can you make out of your circles? Can you make a C? An O? Try turning your circles into the animals we read about - can you make a circle into a crab? What about a chameleon?

Love your blog and your storytime ideas. Wondering if you have plans for a Roald Dahl Day on Sept 13th?
Afraid not, though that is a fun idea. I've gradually stopped doing any kind of "special" program; I simply don't have the time and the attendance doesn't pay off.
