Ah, a new year. That means new plans! New lists! New ideas! As you may have noticed, I've settled my blog back into non-Cybils mode, complete with listy listiness. Updated my review policy, checked all my links, all the good stuff.
Blog plans for 2011 - I'm going to take a little break, not that you'll really notice it, since I have about 2 months of posts saved, mostly written last summer. I'll be posting reviews 2 or 3 times a week, mainly MWF I think, with some library talk on the occasional weekend. I'm planning to go back to my variety pack of reviews, from board books to middle grade, with an emphasis on graphic novels, since A. I love them! and B. it's a collection that still needs work in my library, and C. I kinda want to see if I can make it onto the middle grade graphic novel panel for Cybils next year. There will still be picture book reviews, although it will be a while before I feel the urge to write any new ones...phew!
Library plans for 2011 - I'm only making a few changes to the schedule for this year. Now that our after school programs are working well, I'm hoping to continue building them. Of course, just because I had steady attendance all fall doesn't mean people will show up again now! My lovely colleague, Miss Pattie, will be doing storytimes the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings of the month, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings and I'll be doing Thursday mornings. Then I'll have after school programs for ages 6 - 12 Mondays and Wednesdays, with Wii Gaming on Tuesdays (supervised by our reference assistant because nobody else wanted to do it. Not that she was particularly enthusiastic either, but we get to tell her what to do (-:). I'll have "Reading in the Middle" book club for ages 9 - 13 the first Tuesday evening of every month and birthday parties for ages 3, 4, and 5 in January, February and March. Then we have a movie afternoon for the no school day in February, some extra programs for Spring Break, and an as-yet-undecided Saturday program for Children's Book Week and that will get us to the end of May and the end of winter/spring programming!
The library blog was getting little to no traffic, so I've moved everything to the library website. You can now see Flickr streams of our new book covers, which is kinda cool.
So, that's the year as I see it. Oh, and I'm going to ALA Midwinter, so there will be long lists of loot and possibly zoo pictures. And I think I'm going to work on cooking soups. 2011 will be the year of soup and bread - I bought a bread stone to make artisan breads. And there will be gladiolas to plant and quilts to create. It should be a nice year.

I didn't know you quilted! We must be "kindred spirits"! I find I only quilt now on snowdays and in the summer. Hope that you get a little rest after all the picture book reading for the Cybils!
I didn't know YOU quilted! I have 3 full-size quilts in various stages of completion, one crazy quilt, one sort of adapted log cabin pattern, and one plain four square that I had to stop b/c I ran out of the material and can't find it. I'm actually in the middle of sorting and organizing all my material now - I've been making doll and baby quilts mostly last year and I have a couple very cute ones that just need binding. I got a camera for a Christmas present, so probably more quilts will show up on the blog (-:)
