This week at the library; or, Meh

I've worked pretty much every Saturday since May, and this was my last for some time. I don't mind - it was important to get everything set up for the take home activities and other things on Monday - but it will be a relief to have a break. I'm looking forward to a more regular schedule after Labor Day as well.

I've been working hard on collection development, making sure I get all our budget spent before the end of the year. I've got lots of half-finished spreadsheets and projects to catch up on, and I keep fiddling around with the money that's left, trying to get it to stretch.

I also updated all my school contacts and let them know what is available this fall and what they can expect from the library. Hopefully the school directory is up to date (it isn't always!) and I properly guessed the emails for several new staff! (It wasn't and I didn't, but the teachers helped me get it straightened out).

I'm really thankful this week is over.
