I had grand plans for my moth ball, but when the reality of August and all the work I had to do for the fall showed up, I ended up A. dumping most of the work on Jess and B. going extremely simple. We had flashlights, ripe bananas and sugar for lures, and that was about it. GLAS was going to bring telescopes and information on light pollution. Then the weather turned bad, with storms and extreme humidity, most patrons said it was too late for their kids, and I just cancelled the whole thing. We'll have GLAS in October for stargazing and a lot of people will come to that. We put the rotten bananas and sugar in bags for people to take, with information from You're invited to a moth ball and quite a few people have taken it to try, although they seem a little nonplussed at being offered rotten banana squish at the library.
