This week at the library

porcupette at the kick-off really wanted to climb things

 Programs

  • Aquanauts
  • School visits (multiple)
  • Field trips (multiple)
  • Bookaneers
  • SRP Kick-off
School visits and the summer reading kick-off were the big events we were preparing for this week. I am still tired.

Aftermath of kick-off. Gee Funny Farm, with live animals, was the most popular. I'd like to have them again for next year and this time book them longer, 9:30-11:30. The 4 small/medium animals were just the right number and they worked well in the lobby, although outdoors would probably be fine too if the weather cooperates.
The second program at 1pm was unnecessary - people were mostly done by noon. The s'mores were enjoyed (and we have to do it again because we bought all the skewers) and people liked the food truck, although one is probably enough. I'm not a fan of jazz, so I'm probably a bit prejudiced, but I think they'd have done better in the community room and then have people eat and listen in there.
More space for the registration projects (button-making and glitter tattoos). The staff number was right - one aide from 9-12, one aide from 11-2, one aide 9-2, myself and two associates from 9ish to 2. We could probably start everything earlier and be done by 1.
