When I originally made this list in 2016, this wasn't a very big category. There were few novels in verse for middle grade readers and even fewer of those available at my library, as it was not a popular genre. Over the years, there have been more options published and I've found a little more of an audience for them especially in the school book clubs I supply and expanded the list a little more.
