This week at the library

Actually finished a project over New Year's!

Programs
  • STEM workshop: After school outreach
  • Open Storyroom
  • Take home kit: snowman craft
Projects
  • Reports and end of year statistics
  • Materials orders and budgeting
  • Updating Read and Grow: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
  • Weeding manga
Narrative
  • I'm glad I waited an extra week before resuming programs. A lot of people are getting omicron and the extra prep time is nice, especially since I've been suffering from sinus headaches and we're all still pretty exhausted and burnt out from the last tumultuous year. This does not, of course, mean that we have a "break." In addition to the programs and projects above, we're still sorting through and cleaning out the supplies in the basement, I have programs being cancelled or postponed at the last minute, and every day is a new surprise *sarcasm*. Still, we've got a lot of positive things to start us off this year - getting back to maker workshops will be fun, the kids are excited to resume Pokemon Club, one of our staff has added two aquariums to the youth area, and I'm excited to get Read and Grow relaunched.
